3-9-23   THOUGHTS

Sometimes a reading of God’s word is simply overpowering! The story told in the eleven verses below carries the sense of man’s eternal existence.  It is blanketed in terms of love and grace and mercy, by the One who created it all.  The PEACE idea is all encompassing.  “The RECONCILIATION” is the last word!   Jesus is the one who brings us together with God! The words “saved from the wrath of God through Him” give us a good idea of the word propitiation.   It’s by FAITH that all this comes to us!  Verse 8 speaks of a GREAT DEMONSTRATION.  Sit back and think for a moment about how your eternity changed in that event.  Beyond that, “the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” What a great read we have this morning!  What eternal meaning has been given to us!

Rom 5:1-11    Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,  2  through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God.  3  And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance;  4  and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope;  5  and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.  6  For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. 7  For one will hardly die for a righteous man; though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die. 8  But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9  Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him. 10  For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. 11  And not only this, but we also exult in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

My Prayer:
Father God, may we lift you up to the highest place.  Praise and glory and honor are Yours.  You are an awesome and wonderful God, full of love and grace and mercy.  You have lavished good upon us.  We, the helpless, have been abundantly helped, and it is spiritual eternal help that is so necessary to our eternity.  You give us hope, O God, and we wish we could thank you in bigger ways with greater measure.  How grateful we are that our eternity is in Your hands.  Thank you for a peace that passes understanding.  We want to be with you eternally, O Giver of All Things.   May we seek with our all, the peace that you have brought to us.  In the name of our Lord Jesus,     Amen.
